Founded in Miami, Florida in 1996 by Michelle Birch (President) and Daniel Wohlstein (Director), Global Education Group, Inc. (GEG) is a service firm of experienced professional consultants with extensive and diverse backgrounds in the fields of international education and translation. As part of an overall expansion plan and in order to better serve our clients worldwide, our company headquarters relocated to Tucson, Arizona in 2008 with Michelle Birch directly overseeing the new main office location in Arizona.

All GEG staff members have had significant exposure to both the U.S. and foreign educational systems via academic study, teaching posts and professional employment and are highly skilled and trained in all aspects of foreign credential evaluation/research and translation. We have proudly provided comprehensive foreign credential and work experience evaluations for various purposes including: immigration (for USCIS submission), education (elementary/middle/high school and college/university admission and transfer), professional licensing (teacher certification, CPA, etc.) and employment as well as certified, quality translations of academic, legal, professional/ corporate and technical documentation from and into all languages since 1996.

In addition, our evaluations have been accepted by USCIS (formerly INS) since 1996. Global Education Group, Inc. is a member of AACRAO: American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and NAFSA: Association of International Educators.

Co-Founder of Global Education Group, Inc. (GEG), Ms. Birch has served as President of the organization overseeing all aspects of foreign credential evaluation, work experience evaluation and translation since 1996. Previous to founding GEG, Ms. Birch was Assistant Director for Evaluations and Physical Therapy Liaison at a foreign credential evaluation firm in Miami, Florida. Evaluations prepared by Ms. Birch have been accepted by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (formerly known as the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service) since 1993. Ms. Birch has completed foreign credential evaluation reports (including transfer credit assessment) for foreign educated individuals from around the world for the following purposes since 1993: applications for immigration status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services; applications for professional licensing in various states (C.P.A. examinations, architecture, dentistry, engineering, law, medical laboratory technology, physical therapy, teacher certification); applications for employment in U.S. government agencies (Department of Defense, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Labor Department, Office of Personnel Management); applications for service with the U.S. Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Marines); applications for admission to U.S. high schools, colleges and universities (including transfer credit assessment); and for use by a multitude of other public and private organizations and institutions in the United States and abroad. Ms. Birch worked for the Office of Admissions at The American University in Washington, DC and has attended numerous professional conferences in the international education field. In addition, Ms. Birch completed an internship at the United States Embassy of Argentina in Buenos Aires and has presented a professional seminar for U.S. university admissions officers on the educational system in Argentina. Ms. Birch taught courses in English and United States Culture to B.U.P. and C.O.U. students at the Colegio Jesus Maestro in Madrid, Spain and completed a project on the educational system of Spain. Ms. Birch also has a background in Immigration and International Trade Law and worked for several immigration and international trade law firms in the Washington, D.C. area. Further, she has extensive experience in assisting legal counsel with RFE responses on H-1B, EB1, EB2, EB3, EB4 and EB5 visa cases along with numerous other immigration matters. Ms. Birch is co-author of The AACRAO International Guide: A Resource for International Education Professionals (published in 2016).

Daniel Wohlstein

Co-Founder of Global Education Group, Inc. (GEG), Mr. Wohlstein was formerly a Senior Financial Analyst for C.V.G. International America, Inc., part of Corporación Venezolana de Guayana, the second largest corporation in Venezuela at the time. He supervised the Control Unit in C.V.G.’s New York and Miami offices and oversaw various total quality management and reengineering projects. Mr. Wohlstein has extensive professional experience and a broad knowledge of accounting and management science as applied to the international business field. He has owned and managed a trading company in Miami, Florida and an industrial production facility in Venezuela as well as conceptualized and spearheaded all facets of a thriving financial services firm startup in Peru. In addition, Mr. Wohlstein served as a member of the Business Faculty Board at Universidad Católica Andrés Bello in Caracas, Venezuela from 1986 to 1991.
